How do pupils benefit from TakeTen?

Research shows that the emotional health of pupils is key to their ability to learn effectively, but children of all ages face considerable pressures at home, in their social circles and in the classroom. Improving emotional resilience and learning to cope with stress are very powerful tools that will help children both now and in the future. Not only can it help with concentration levels and general behaviour, it can also lead to improvement performance and higher attainment in the majority of pupils.

TakeTen can help across all age groups, including those in both primary and secondary level education.

In a recent study, where teachers used the techniques to help with exam preparation, a group of students were assessed by their teachers before and after using the programme, and the results were then compared.

The results were remarkable and considering that the target group only used the systems for a short period of time prior to the exams, it showed that the effectiveness of the systems was a key component in the students exam results improvement.

As Education consultant John Sunderland-Wright said 'the system didn't make the pupils any smarter, it just gave tham a new skill to help them cope with the pressure of exams and revision, and the 20% grade improvement was great for everyone concerned.'

Further research work with both Northern Ireland Universities will be commencing shortly and the level of interest from both is high.
